Me, Myself, and My Avatar

The Planner

I think this avatar clearly defines a part of myself. It's actually plain and simple. The outfit seems to match the way I dress and I also chose the top because I love yellow. I searched for the hairstyle which is near to what I am having right now.

I am a type of person who lists all the important dates to be noted. I want to keep myself on track so that I won't miss activities, meetings, or events. I come to settle the things I need to work on. Assign time for everything and the like. My only problem is that sometimes, I tend to procrastinate and it ruins the upcoming plans that I have written. I have this difficulty in managing my time effectively. But all in all, I am happy that I have acquired this characteristic and I am able to remind other people about the different matters. :)

Blog: YouTube

Since the evolution of Web 2.0, lots of internet applications have transformed the way of people's living. It had brought significant changes which make human interactions more flexible and effective. One of the most interesting outputs ever made is Youtube. It is a venue for people coming from different nations bring and express their knowledge, ideas, information, experiences, talents, and opinions in the form of a video, audio, or through giving feedbacks in every output available which will be visible to anyone who will be accessing its features. Because of this, I will be sharing my understanding about YouTube in the coming items.

1. What is the impact of YouTube to us?

Well, people can have different approaches on how they will use a certain application like YouTube. One may prefer to use it as a tool to share knowledge. Lots of videos about certain matters like topics in our Biology class, Java class, or even in Math class can be found in the website. It is normally in the form of a summary and most of the time, it only gives the important points in an easy manner which really helps us understand things better. Ideas coming from different professionals are also being considered and recognized by its viewers. For example, a loyal client of a certain industry tries to suggest a product with the following qualities and features. It may be an opportunity for a business to grow in the form of sales by producing the goods and selling it to the public. News can also be uploaded on the website which paves the way for people to get access to real-time information with just having a stable internet connection. Experiences are normally seen in YouTube. Its content might be a party, a trip to a tourist destination or it can be a normal day of an individual. This gives the users an idea about the culture and the quality of lives of people from different locations. Talents can also be showcased through uploading a video on YouTube. Lots of different artists like Charice, Kevjumba, and Ray William Johnson have been discovered through it. Opinions on certain matters like national issues can be reviewed. It might help another entity like the government to know what people think about concerns and it can actually help them make decisions.

2. How can we use YouTube for education?

As what I have told earlier, it can be used to upload lectures which are not fully understood by the students. The tool to be uploaded should be reliable to avoid giving more confusion to the end-user. Aside from it, researchers who are taking their master’s degree can use it to gather data such as knowing the culture in a place which is new to them. Students may also download educational videos and share them to their classes in order to extend its impact to other people. It can also serve as a substitute to actual classes where physical appearance is needed. It is indeed a practical and a wise move because most of us have internet connections already. We should use its benefits well. Moreover, having this kind of setup will make us productive since we can access outputs anywhere, any place, and in any device.

3. How do you see YouTube evolving 10 years from now?

I can see that information will be more accessible to everyone and people will be able to communicate and express themselves well. Since the modern day brings newer technological devices with internet features, information will be transparent to a greater number of persons. If people will effectively use its features, maybe the knowledge level of each person won’t have a large gap between them when compared. With that, we can collaborate and combine our ideas better in order to produce something which can be helpful to the society. Through an innovated feedback system, a more relevant conversation can be initialized and be produced that can also promote and build better relations among users. If everyone feels comfortable when using the web-application, he/she will be open and will consider also taking a video of his/herself and upload it to YouTube to extend and share ideas to other end-users.

All in all, YouTube is a web-application to be considered and innovated. Its benefits can fully be taken if wisely used. In addition to this, users must also remember that they are responsible for whatever activity they have contributed to the site because it is a great factor that can truly affect someone's thinking.

Happy Childhood for a Happy Future :)

"If you carry your childhood with you, you never become older." ~Tom Stoppard

These are just some photos which I was able to produce soft copies of and I was able to save in my external hard drive before, but don't worry. I am going to update this post as soon as I got back in my hometown and invade my photo album. :)

Anyway, let's get back to the track.
;)

Perhaps, the most exciting and most memorable part of everyone's childhood is the time we used to play. I remember myself sneaking from my mother or from my father or from our babysitter or from whoever is guarding me not to get out of the house after having a lunch meal. Most probably, what we were doing past 1 was lying on the bed or sofa while watching our favorite noon time game shows like Game Ka na Ba? and Magandang Tanghali Bayan. But yeah, kids will do everything just to get along with their playmates. I used to pretend to be asleep and really wait for the one who is babysitting me to fall asleep. Once I can sense that he/she are really asleep, I have this feeling of saying like "Yes with the :> *smug!" :)) Once I manage to get out of the door, I feel so free even though it's too hot outside. Maybe, I don't mind it that time or maybe, I don't even care about my complexion. Like who cares? My friends did the same thing too. :)

So, we used to gather at this clubhouse in our village. I used to be with a mixture of boys and girls group but majority of them were guys which was composed of my cousins who are mostly guys. (When I was a child, I think I'm the only girl...ohh, yes...I AM THE ONLY GIRL among the grandchildren of my father's side. We were 9 kids that time. So I'm like boy-ish that time.) I think I was 5 or 6 when I got so active to play under the sun. We, playmates, specifically have little gaps between our ages. So maybe you can actually predict what happened to us: the one who's the eldest acted like 'the leader' or 'the boss' most of the time. The middle ones were the followers while the youngest kids among our group were the 'saling-pusa'. :))

Why is this memorable for me? It's simple. :)
It was the time I started to learn things. I started to make friends and 'enemies' or it's more known as the 'bati' and 'di bati' :)). I started to try out and discover new things like reaching a high position/get a higher elevation on the swing, do the cartwheel though I cannot do it now, catch butterlies, ride a bicycle, scooter & rollerblades, and play basketball (I am thankful about this because I can do free-throws in my FWTEAMS class. (:). I also learned to care for my friends that time. For example, someone gets hurt. We help out each other as best as we can and it promoted teamwork. We also met adults like the parents of each of our playmates. It was indeed a memorable experience to be treasured and should always be part of our lives or atleast, my life.

Ohh yea. :">
I used to be a crybaby when I was a toddler until I got into elementary.
Oh well...

Given the opportunity, would you share or allow this incident be experienced by another person? Who would be this person? Why would you want to impart such experience? My answer for this question would be, DEFINITELY YES and it would be for the kids of this generation. As you might have observed around you, it isn't a new or shocking thing to see kids have different gadgets like iPod, iPhone, Wii, PS3 and Xbox. Maybe they've got better phones than us. That's practically life, everything changes. There's no doubt that life today is totally better than before because everything is almost instant and easy. Kids of this generation tend to just stay in their homes and spend the whole day playing computer games. Well in fact, some of the parents today even prefer their kids to just use technological devices rather than to go out of the house. It's just sad not seeing these kids involve themselves in physical activities anymore which might trigger them to acquire illnesses. Moreover, there might be a large probability that these individuals are going to acquire poor social skills. As we all know, communication skill is one of the most important factors in the society. It is then rightful for these kids to experience the lifestyle we had before because it offers more than we're thinking.

It is not yet late to create BETTER childhood memories. Let the kids have freedom, let them play with nature.

We need to have something good to look back as we get older.

Update: Here are some of the additional photos of my childhood.
